The giant inside

David didn't know until Goliath's threat, and then the giant inside of him was awakened and he wouldn't let an uncircumcised Philistine defile his God and his people.
He didn't run from his challenge. He faced it head on, and the giant inside of him won the fight.

Difficulty and insufficient resources are hitches to a successful ending, and many times, they are inevitable. Just like the speed bump, they often cause a break, and at other times, like a large pothole they tend to put a complete stop to a dream in motion.
Giving up is not rare to find in such cases, and today so many dreams are gone with the dreamer because he left his giant locked and inactive while he succumbed to his challenge.

The giant is the person that confronts a challenge when there's a feeling that things just can't get any farther or better. A giant can't be intimidated by height or might. A giant won't see a problem or an opponent, but a potential piece to showcase strength and skill. A giant is never afraid to dare because he knows no whole piece is a match for him—just like Goliath thought David was.

Some insights as seen from David:

  • He didn't run or fret. Only losers quit, and one on the way to win shouldn't quit.

  • He saw what he had as sufficient for the opposition before him. He didn't try to match the ordinary sling in His hands with Goliath's armour. As posted earlier here, you have everything you need to be a success as well as overcome everything that may present itself a Goliath. Nothing's common; nothing's ordinary when an obstacle to achieving is concerned: it all depends on who handles the sling—fearful self or the fearless giant inside.

  • David of course had gone through training looking after his father's flock. He referred to those and his giant was activated. Remember the seminars, the motivation and all? They are your training and key to activating your giant. What are those things you jotted that inspired you? Go back to them and find strength.

  • David recalled his past victories. You sure have a victory story: make reference to that. You conquered then, you can, now!

Through these, the giant inside is awakened, and the strength to carry on is found.

You can do anything you want through Christ who strengthens you. David could, you can.

Get up! Face the challenge! Dare to keep moving! Activate your giant! Achieve your dream!

LESSONS FROM THE ANT

The Ants have always been a pointer to the way-to-living for human. Their lifestyle has always amazed man. Though little, feeble creatures as they seem and appear, they are loaded with lessons. Little wonder the proverbs gives the counsel: "go to the ants, thou sluggard; consider her ways and be wise". The ant teaches wisdom, which is learned by observation—lesson from the ants. #1- Activity with foresight

Building Capacity

The teen and youth ages are transitory periods. The adulthood is dependent on them and the childhood look forward to them. Major changes occur that shapes one during this period. Decisions and choices during this period are key too. The parable of the talents illustrates a scenario of three servants- their ages not told. They were given talents which can be likened to an investment. The spotlight is on the fact that they were given according to their "ability" and not "piety." A mentor once said they were given to capacity. If piety were a consideration, the servant who ended up with one talent should have had the most: he was pious; he feared his master the most  and wouldn't want to offend him in any way; but he hadn't capacity worth investing more than one talent. The above is an evidence that proves the fact that nobody is willing to invest much in anybody without capacity, enough to contain. The amount of content is dependent on the capacity of ...
